Keraton Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta Palace)

A monarchy inside a democratic country? Could it happen?

The answer is it  could be happen, in fact it is happening in Indonesia. At the past time before the independence day of Indonesia, this country consisted of a lot of small kingdom. All of the people in Indonesia realize that we need to united and become great country but still respected our local wisdom.

Yogyakarta kingdom is supported Indonesian people to be independence in exchange Indonesian people recognized Yogyakarta as special kingdom and the king of Yogyakarta will be the governor of Yogyakarta province under Republic of Indonesia. As Indonesian people I really proud of Yogyakarta. The region have a very thick cultural basic and the people stil honoring the tradition over the time. I will not talk more about this history, I will explore the good thing that came out of it instead. A palace where the King lives.

This is the front door of keraton Yogyakarta. The King of Yogyakarta we called his majesty Sultan Hamengkubuwono. The sultan is generous. He allowed the citizens to come take a look inside the palace but not inside  the sultan' privat area. Last May I visited this palace for second time. The first time was when I was 13yo. I love the traditional architecture of Keraton Yogyakarta, it serenity is overwhelming.

But before entering Keraton Yogyakarta I took a quick photo in this place below. When you traveling you may lost track of time, this clock reminds me to always cautious with time and not wasting time on thing does not important in our lives.

Inside the building is simple not glamorous but it have thick traditional pattern. Some of the building is really useful but there are some that I think it only ornamental, but really good spot for taking picture.

I guess this one is for ornamental ^_^ It look so pretty though..

The unique architecture of Keraton keep me going to explore from one building to another. The best part of it is the people here is very humble and warm, almost all Yogyakarta people like to smile and polite. Another push to visit this palace is the ticket price is very cheap, for local people you only have to pay IDR 7.000 and overseas tourist IDR 15.000! Plus you have to pay only IDR 1.000 if you want to taking picture inside Keraton.

You can also hire guide that will provide you useful information about Keraton and they will give you tour around Keraton. They will give you information mostly about history of Keraton and everything that you need to know about Keraton. The guide can speak english or other language, all you need is to ask. The payment will be giving them tips at the end of your trips around Keraton.

This the end about my post around Keraton let me know if you want more information about this beautiful palace ^_^

See you on next post.. XOXO..

BACT Opening Ceremony

August last year I joined Summer School Programme in National Taiwan University, Taiwan. The programme name  was BACT (Biodiversity, Agriculture and Culture in Taiwan). I wanted to share my experience in Taiwan here with you all. The first day started with introduction and welcoming from BACT Lecturer. Every participant was seated in the bench with name tag on it. So I quickly scanned the room and searching for Rizky Trisna Putri name tag on the desk. This name tag on the table help us a lot to recognize all the participant name. I was so happy that I got a nice souvenir because I can guess who is the first inisiator of BACT. They gave us a very nice and soft cake. They also provided us with dairy product of NTU. I love milk so much. I prefer cow milk than soybean milk (They give us both). Nevertheless I like it all the snack that given to us. They give us a black bag and in the inside there are a lot of usefull thing like raincoat, cap, bug sprayer, note, guidance
