How to Travel by Train in Indonesia

Baby.. Baby..Come and safe me.. Don’t need those other numbers.. when I get my number one.. (Singing mode) Hello guys, opening this post by sing little mix song Love Me Like  You. Writing this post by singing bring back my memory last weekend when I travel from my hometown Probolinggo to Jember. I go to Jember using train from Probolinggo Train Station.

First I buy ticket on Ind*mart an retail shop in Indonesia FYI train ticket can be bought online or retail shop who have partnership with PT KAI (Indonesian train transportation company) but I’m not recommend it because you have to pay admin fee Rp 7500, if you are able, it better to go to nearest train station. Don’t forget to bring your passport or KTP (Kartu Tanda Penduduk) along with you  because they need it to input your data.

Foto guidance for train user, it is in Bahasa though.

You can check in by scanning your boarding pass in this box.

Put your ticket in front of the little black box like the girl doing in the photo.

After that get your boarding pass. You don’t need to do this if you buy your ticket directly in train station in the same day, you will get your boarding pass directly when you buy your ticket.

This is my boarding pass. My train’s name is Probowangi. And after getting the boarding pass we can go to inside the station to wait for the train beside the railway. You need to show your passport or KTP and your boarding pass to the officer. He will check it and let you inside.

After that wait for the train stop. Let the passenger who want to out get out first, then you can go in. Don’t affraid the train will leave you or you won’t get chair to sit inside train because there is officer who make sure the passenger up in the train before let the train continue the journey.

Then here I am inside the train sitting peacefully. Wait a few minute and there is an officer check your boarding pass and passport. After that you can rest and enjoy your journey with the train.  In every station there is announcement about what station that we are in. The announcement using both English and Bahasa. If it your destination on the next station please stay calm and move after the train is really stop.

I like to travel with train. This is my favorite transportation. It make sure you get chair and you can sitting peacefully. There are also 2 air conditioner in each wagon so it is not hot inside the train. As you know Indonesia is a country with tropical climate that means the weather can be soooo hot during dry season. Unlike Subtropical country who have for season summer, autumn, winter, and spring, in Indonesia only have two season rainy and dry season.

Train also fast enough because it have its special way so there is no traffic. The departure also punctual and it seldom have delayed. There are food you can buy on train but it is more expensive than in regular shop. So my advise is prepare your meal and water from outside the train to save money ^_^ Unlike using airplane they are not forbide you to bring food or water in train.

I enjoy traveling with train, wish you are too.. Don’t hestitate to write comment if you want to ask more ^_~ I actually want to post this yesterday but can't because connection problem T_T

Anyway.. See you on next post.. XOXO..
