Gentle Rogue Book Review by Johanna Lindsey



It seems like ages since my last book review and now I would like to share about the 3rd part of Malory Series by Johanna Lindsay. I highly recomend to read the previous book before read this one because it will be well read and bring more satisfaction if you know the story before this story. Or at least read my previous review ^_~

The story actually start from second book of Mallory series when James and Anthony Mallory ambushed Georgina and her friends Mac in a tavern. They are looking for Malcom Lady Roslyn’s cousin to break the news tha the lady is already married to Anthony. Meanwhile Georgina is using male clothes as camouflage so she search her fiance in the travern. Thanks to younger Mallory all people in the travern now realized that she is a woman. James Mallory feel intrigued by Georgina presence and he is so curious about her. Furthermore he have no idea who she is. That’s the spoiler story of their first encountered in the second book (Tender Rebel).

The opening of Gentle Rogue tell more about Georgina motivation coming to England from America after waiting six years for his fiance to marry her. She fell hurt when she already in London only with Mac (Her family friend) and found out that her fiance is already married. She decided to immediatelly go home. But unfortunately there is no passenger ship going to America, only a ship will go to west indies, but they have to work in the ship. Georgina agree with the idea working in the trip because she think it will take her focus from her broken heart. Little did she know James Mallory is the captain of the ship and she applied to be his cabin boy!!

James Mallory is shocked! He will never know how the universe work to make Georgina assigned as his cabin boy, and he so grateful by the fact. He pretend not to know Georgina is a girl at the first, while Georgina, under name George as cabin boy, recognize him as the man from the travern from the first time, but unfortunately for her the ship is already sailing so there is no chance for her to leave the ship. She stuck with the handsome captain during the duration of their trip.

As you all expected, James and George are attract to each other and they are surrender to the passionate moment. George shocked after the fateful night when James take her virginity he still wants her to act as his cabin boy. And she stays as his lover every night. Until they arrived in west indies. James eating with Connie (Conrad Sharpe) his right hand and told him he will propose to Georgina to ask her to be his mistress. Connie is so skeptic George will accept James proposal moreover he saw George in a ship at that exact moment. James furious because George don’t say anything, even a simple good bye to him. He ignore Connie advise to forget her and he ask Connie gather the crew to chase George.

James then discover George motivation come to England. He got so jealous and decided to comes in Anderson party (Anderson is Georgina family name). Anderson family is celebrate because all the sibling is in town. It is rare occasion because as sailor they are more in sea than in land. There a lot of them. 

George’s brother recognise him as pirates and they also discover that James is the captain in the ship that take George back to America. James tell them in a very explicit way that he share more than just the cabin with George. As the result George’s brother demand him to marry their sister.

But the most hot headed Anderson, Warren, still think James should be hank because of his pirating activity. He put James in cellar and will bring him to justice after wedding. George ask her other sibling Drew and Boyd to help her freed James.

They did it! James free but he take George sail away from America back to London. The entire Anderson clan are coming to London chasing after her. Will there happy ending in James and Georgie story? And how about James vs The Anderson? You have to find out in the book ^_^


Indonesia cover


For the Indonesian title “Cinta Sang Bajak Laut” meaning in English “Pirate Love” is not appropriate i think. Beacuse you will imagine pirate story while James actually a retire gentleman pirates. But I like the Indonesian cover it is simple but fit for the book.

I really enjoy reading this book. The story is light and easy to read. But also containing some heart wrenching moment that I absolutely like!!! And this is the end of my book review, wait for other review :*

Weekend Travel around NTU Campus

Today is a holiday. I explore place around the dorm in holiday. I like the architecture here. And I found a tiny area for children to play. The children can play happily here. In Taipei, most of the citizen living in apartment, they don't have their own garden. This public space for children is very useful. This is very nice. The child plays happily Even though I do a solo travelling but I feel safe because the neighbourhood is not crowded. My destination is Taipei Grand Mosque. I search on google map it is not far from the dorm. So I go there and planning to pray there. Taipei Grand Mosque It is not as big as I imagine considering Indonesia grand mosque is so big with 10 floor. The mosque only has 2 floors but it is clean and comfortable. I pretty impress because there are a lot of people in the mosque. Apparently, there is someone die. In Muslim rules if there is someone die then at least 40 people should pray for the corpse and wishing he has a pleasant

Shung Ye Museum and Taiwan's National Palace Museum

Back to my story while I was in Taiwan joining BACT NTU. That day July 14th 2018 we went to National Palace Museum, but first we were coming to Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigin. It located very near from National Palace Museum, only 5 minute walking. We use city bus to go there. This is my first time using bus in Taiwan. I like to ride the bus. It is clean and comfortable, I sit with Sarah and she said she also like to use public transportation.  Inside Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigin We have guided tour here. The tour guide is very good on explaining the content of the museum. First she take us to look around in th first floor. The first floor is about people and natural environment of Taiwan. An introduction to environment inhabited by Taiwan indigenous people is displayed. The interpretation of the aborigin people is displayed in an informative board.
