Recommended Taipei Free Tour (228 Peace Memorial Park)

Hello guys, I back with the story about my day in Taiwan ^_^

After BACT opening ceremony, we were viting old time Taiwan. We rode Metro to that place from NTU. The metro was similar with the one we used in Indonesia (MRT) but it was better because it had air conditioner on the station so we were not too hot while waiting the train. The train was comfortable and it only short ride. The best thing on our destination is we can walk around the park for FREE!!!

I was going there with all the participant of BACT summer course student. We divided ourself into two group because there are two tour guide that will accompany us around old Taipei. My tour guide names Tracey (White shirt). She was so good with history. I felt lucky to have her as our tour guide. She also looking after us and choose spot that was make us more comfortable. For example because the weather so hot she explained inside the national museum because there were air conditioner.

The history of Taiwan is amazing. I like to hear history. It is one of my favorite subject. Tracey told us about 228 days. The Taiwan history when Japan lost world war 2 and China take over Taiwan. Taiwan people doesn’t like the Chinese army that coming. They feel Chinese army is stinks and not reliable (because they just finish war).

The Chinese army treated Taiwan people badly. It cause the people to rebel. Then when Taiwan people explain the situation, they don’t even apologize. That’s make a lot of Taiwan people angry and attacking Chinese army. Now the government build this monument to remember the victim of that accident because that is when Taiwan people start to rebel and questioning Chinese soldier that act rude to people and kill innocent people.

There was the well at the middle of the monument and there was a hand print that we could put our hands in and then looking at the inside. We could hear the water sound that will remind us of the crying sounds of the victim. I found this monument are great and well maintenance. I liked the structure and the sounds inside the museum. It did have a mourn nuances but it good place to do self reflection and remember the history so we could learn from the past not to do the same mistake and make a good future.

I felt peace here and I could feel the sadness feeling. But I also like to remember that our lives is always moving forward and there were no use dwelling over the past.

After that we continued our trip around old Taiwan and stop at an ice cream shop. I bought milk ice cream and totally love it. It was very soft and creamy. I believed I will buy again if I had the opportunity. I will share complete story about the ice cream and food that I bought on the next post about Taiwan.

See you on next post.. XOXO..

Weekend Travel around NTU Campus

Today is a holiday. I explore place around the dorm in holiday. I like the architecture here. And I found a tiny area for children to play. The children can play happily here. In Taipei, most of the citizen living in apartment, they don't have their own garden. This public space for children is very useful. This is very nice. The child plays happily Even though I do a solo travelling but I feel safe because the neighbourhood is not crowded. My destination is Taipei Grand Mosque. I search on google map it is not far from the dorm. So I go there and planning to pray there. Taipei Grand Mosque It is not as big as I imagine considering Indonesia grand mosque is so big with 10 floor. The mosque only has 2 floors but it is clean and comfortable. I pretty impress because there are a lot of people in the mosque. Apparently, there is someone die. In Muslim rules if there is someone die then at least 40 people should pray for the corpse and wishing he has a pleasant

Shung Ye Museum and Taiwan's National Palace Museum

Back to my story while I was in Taiwan joining BACT NTU. That day July 14th 2018 we went to National Palace Museum, but first we were coming to Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigin. It located very near from National Palace Museum, only 5 minute walking. We use city bus to go there. This is my first time using bus in Taiwan. I like to ride the bus. It is clean and comfortable, I sit with Sarah and she said she also like to use public transportation.  Inside Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigin We have guided tour here. The tour guide is very good on explaining the content of the museum. First she take us to look around in th first floor. The first floor is about people and natural environment of Taiwan. An introduction to environment inhabited by Taiwan indigenous people is displayed. The interpretation of the aborigin people is displayed in an informative board. There is a Yami (Tao) fishing boat representing the maritime environment. The most interesting part in the firs
