Weekend Travel around NTU Campus

Today is a holiday. I explore place around the dorm in holiday. I like the architecture here. And I found a tiny area for children to play. The children can play happily here. In Taipei, most of the citizen living in apartment, they don't have their own garden. This public space for children is very useful. This is very nice.

The child plays happily

Even though I do a solo travelling but I feel safe because the neighbourhood is not crowded. My destination is Taipei Grand Mosque. I search on google map it is not far from the dorm. So I go there and planning to pray there.

Taipei Grand Mosque

It is not as big as I imagine considering Indonesia grand mosque is so big with 10 floor. The mosque only has 2 floors but it is clean and comfortable. I pretty impress because there are a lot of people in the mosque. Apparently, there is someone die.

In Muslim rules if there is someone die then at least 40 people should pray for the corpse and wishing he has a pleasant journey on the next life. I join the and this is actually the first time for me praying for the death.
Family and Friends carrying The Corpse to the burial place

They put the corps on a wooden chest and then the people take the corpse to the grave. But the corpse is not buried with the wooden chest. The wooden chest is the mosque property. It only used to transport the corpse. They put the corpse in a special car. This is a big car, in Indonesia usually people carrying the corpse directly from the mosque to the burial place. But, They say that the burial place is far from the mosque so the car is needed.

This the car

After praying I stop in front of the mosque. I met two Indonesian worker. We chat and they are very nice. They give me a cake as we speak. They tell me there is an Indonesian restaurant next to the mosque that sells halal food.

Royal, Indonesian Restaurant at Taipei

I tempted to go there. They sell Indonesian food. Instead of going to that restaurant, I go to this place to buy pasta. I don't feel homesick, so no need to try Indonesian food here when I can enjoy Indonesian food in Indonesia.

The seller is foreign people

This actually not a restaurant only a small hut. But it intrigued me because the seller says he is from Italy. I think I don't want to miss a chance to try original Italian pasta made by the people from there.

This is it.

I make sure there is no pork ingredient inside and I want extra cheese. The portion is big enough. The shrimps are also good. It tastes different than the pasta I usually made because I prefer strong flavour with rich seasoning. It cost me NTD 100. I don't eat at the place but find a nearby park and enjoy peacefully on the park bench under a tree. After eating I roaming around the street and capture some favourite object.

I have no idea what is this >_<

^_^

I found a bus stop. Here the mass transportation is very easy to access. You have to pay with e-money, luckily my student card can be used as e-money as well. Back to the bus, so my friends told me we can download the apps that can show us the schedule of every bus. At the bus stop, we can check when the next bus is coming.

I love wandering around Taipei. It is a holiday well spent!

See you on next post.. XOXO..

Shung Ye Museum and Taiwan's National Palace Museum

Back to my story while I was in Taiwan joining BACT NTU. That day July 14th 2018 we went to National Palace Museum, but first we were coming to Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigin. It located very near from National Palace Museum, only 5 minute walking. We use city bus to go there. This is my first time using bus in Taiwan. I like to ride the bus. It is clean and comfortable, I sit with Sarah and she said she also like to use public transportation.  Inside Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigin We have guided tour here. The tour guide is very good on explaining the content of the museum. First she take us to look around in th first floor. The first floor is about people and natural environment of Taiwan. An introduction to environment inhabited by Taiwan indigenous people is displayed. The interpretation of the aborigin people is displayed in an informative board. There is a Yami (Tao) fishing boat representing the maritime environment. The most interesting part in the firs
