Multatuli Museum, Banten

As my promise in the previous post, I will share my time traveling in Banten. We arrived at Multatuli Museum at 2 am with an empty stomach. So, before continuing our journey inside the museum, we decide to find something to eat. Multatuli Museum is on the same road as Rangkas Townsquare. We have lunch on the other side of the street. I really curious to try some local food in Rangkas. There quiet many food sellers but I only interested in trying something I have never had before.

The first one which catch my attention is Malingping ice. It is sweet ice with Aren sugar. Later that day when I was on the bus, the passenger beside me told me that Malingping actually the name of a village in Banten. The ice is surprisingly refreshing for me, because the color is dark brown.

I don't like the jelly though. But the taste suit me, it not too sweet but you definitely can spot the Aren sugar flavor. It only cost me IDR 4.000 (IDR 14.000= 1 USD). My next goal is hunting a unique local food. The first thing that caught my attention is Miting, it is fried crabs with spicy flavor. Unfortunately even though the seller is open the Miting menu is not available. So i move on to the next menu Laksa. it was traditional soup with coconut milk sauce, but again it is closed. Finally my choice goes to Fish ball soup.

It definitely not bad. My friends also order it. But i don't think that this is a special local food. It cost me IDR 16.000. After finishing our lunch we going back to Multatuli museum. Beside the museum there is a library that open for public.

Wilujeng sumping means Welcome in Banten language. it is one kind of local language in indonesia. As i mention in the previous post the entry ticket to Multatuli museum is free! So don't hesitate to come here when you visiting Banten.

This is Multatulli. He is from netherland. Indonesia have been colonized by Netherland in the past for 3,5 century. Multatuli is one of Netherland people that help Indonesian people to free. He writes book Max Havelaar that tells the world the suffer that Indonesian people have to endure at that time. Inside the museum you can learn Indonesia history also. Every part of the inside museum is amuse me. The architecture inside the museum is good. It is small museum but cozy and have a lot of knowledge. Behind the museum there is canteen and toilet.

I am not going to post inside the museum in this blog post. I have it in my highlight Instagram story though (@rizkytrisnaputri). I hope you all can visit this place too. don't afraid to step out your comfort zone and travel to new places.

See you on the next post.. XOXO..
